Lednice – Valtice cultural landscape , UNESCO heritage. Chateau with beautiful gardens, river boat and carriage tour, wine tasting of top 100 Czech and Moravian wines.

The Lednice-Valtice cultural landscape consists of vast parkland with many historical buildings and monuments built in different architectural styles. It covers 300 square kilometres and was built by members of the House of Lichtenstein in the eighteenth and nineteenth century. This area has been in the UNESCO world heritage list since 1996. Although you can see the main attractions in a day, it is also certainly possible to spend a week here. The guided tour of the Lednice chateau is a great experience. You can also visit the chateau’s historic glasshouse, with its collection of exotic plants. Then you can go by boat to the minaret and have a great view of the whole area, and if you wish you can take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage on the way back. Finally, you can visit the National Salon of Wines of the Czech Republic in Valtice, and taste some of the hundred best wines of our land. These are anonymously chosen each year by experts possessing international wine tasting certificates. The Salon is situated in the cellars below the chateau of Valtice. You can taste the wines according to your own choice, or you can allow yourself to be guided by using the services of a sommelier. A catalogue of all the wines, with information in German and English, will be at your disposal.

We can extend this trip with a guided tour of other parts of the chateau of Lednice, or of any of the other places of interest in the area –John’s castle, the chateau of Valtice or the Malawi aquarium with its many African and South American aquatic animals. Everything depends on the time you have at your disposal.

This trip is available from May to October, on any day except Monday. A tour guide will be available on all our trips. He/she will take care of the guests, answer their questions and translate as required.
